Great Meet
Thank you again for another great swim meet! It was another victory for our team! Fortunately we got it finished before the rain & storms. I've just prepared the personal best stickers for the ribbons, and there are more than 150--way to go swimmers! So many incredible swims, and the season is just getting started! We also had a wonderfully smooth volunteer day--thank you so much for signing up and showing up!! Volunteers you did an awesome job!
We got off a bit with recording times in one lane, but through the super extra effort of our meet Referee, Felipe Zambrano and Mark Lingo, I think we got the situation corrected. Please contact me if you see an issue that you think may still be wrong, and we will do our best to work it out.
Next Saturday's meet is back at Adamson Lagoon again against the Brenham Dolphins! Meet entry is now open and the DEADLINE for singing up your swimmers in WEDNESDAY, May 25th at midnight. We are officially the home team, which means we will need to really staff up on our volunteer spots. We will need to have two timers per lane for each shift--that is 24 parents just to serve as timers, plus all of our other jobs. I find volunteering during the meets lots of fun; it keeps you part of the action and is one of the things I love so much about summer league swimming--that families have such a great opportunity to be involved together.
Thank you again to Vera and her staff of lifeguards. They were at the pool this morning in time to see the sun come up, but were too busy, putting up shade tents, and lane ropes, etc. etc. to enjoy the beautiful sunrise!
See you Monday afternoon for practice. Our last week of afternoon practice: Monday - Thursday at Adamson Lagoon!
