    Brenham Meet

    Brenham Meet

I hope everyone is staying safe and as dry as possible in this crazy weather.  Assuming the rain does stop, and according to the forecast it should stop sometime tonight and not rain again . . . until Tuesday anyway, we are a go for the meet against Brenham tomorrow.  Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered, we have a couple of timer shifts left, but I am working on those today and have no doubt we will get them filled.  So, with that in mind, a few reminders:

    • We are home again (Adamson Lagoon) against Brenham
    • Tsunami Warm-ups are from 7:15 – 7:35am
    • All swimmers must be checked in with a coach by 7:45 am or risk being scratched from relays
    • Just like your swimmers, we are trying to shave time, and ACTUALLY start the meet at 8 AM!
      • All Swimmers in events 1-11 (50-free, 100 free, 6&Under Free Relays, 8&U Medley Relays, and 9/10 Medley Relays) need to be at the ready bench immediately following the national anthem, if not before.
      • Once a swimmers event is called and they show up at the ready bench, they need to stay there so they do not miss their swim/relay
    • Volunteer meeting at 7:45 am by the ready bench (all volunteers from both sessions), but I will send a separate email to all volunteers this evening).
    • Heat Sheets will be available to purchase for $3.  Meet Vision should be up and running—you can check that now even.  (Make sure you check to see if your swimmers are in any relays)
    • Although the chance of rain tomorrow is slim, we can carry on with light rain, as long as there is no lightning.
    • Bring:  Shade/umbrella, sunscreen—sunscreen is important even in cloudy overcast weather, caps, goggles, sunscreen, snacks (coolers allowed, concessions will be open), water, activities for swimmers between races.
    • Estimates from the merging of the meet are that we should wrap up around 11am tomorrow, but that requires a 8AM start.
      • We should finish no later than our first two meets . . . so if you want to time second shift, should be able to be home by noon . . . feel free to sign up! :)
    • The crazy weather yesterday delayed the exchange of the remaining ribbons from the Lee County meet, but they should be available by Monday.

Please be safe in this weather, and let me know if you have any questions, or need any additional information.  Otherwise, we will see you at the pool tomorrow! (If the weather changes dramatically from what is forecasted, or Brenham thinks they will not be able to get to us b/c of flooded roads, I will send an email update, and post on the website!)
