Updates
May 31st
Thank you again to lots of generous parents who have worked every single meet and are still signing up, and help from the City aquatics staff, we got all of the volunteer positions filled for this weekend. yay! thank you very much!
- Meet entries for this weekend are now open, they will close Wednesday, June 1 at midnight. It is necessary to close individual entries at midnight, so that relays can be made based on entered swimmers Thursday morning, and then the meet merged Thursday evening. After the meet is merged, events must be combined and re-seeded, a heat sheet generated, and timer sheets prepared. All of these things take time, so the entry deadline cannot be extended.
- If I told you today I would enter your swimmer, I will enter them, but please log in on Wednesday and confirm they are entered for the events you want them entered in.
- Volunteer sign up is open for the Bryan meet and Divisionals, if you will be swimming in those meets and have not yet volunteered for three shifts, please sign up, support the team and your swimmers. I do not want to be in a position of telling any swimmers they cannot swim.
- Divisionals is a similar to all of our dual meets, but will have all 6 teams in our division; so it will be bigger and longer; it will probably last until around 2 pm. There will be 3 volunteer shifts.
- Swimmers do not have to "qualify" for Divisionals, but they can only swim individual events if they have an "official" time in that event. Again, officials times are times from dual meets or Pentathlon, not our time trial at the Bryan Aquatic Center, or times from practice.
- Pentathlon update: Swimmers wishing to swim in Pentathlon must RSVP by this Friday, June 3. (You can RSVP "yes," even if you still need to get times for particular events this Saturday.) After we get our RSVP count, we will get back to you with payment details. The fee is $25/swimmer.
- We will keep an eye on weather in the AM and do our best to get out a timely email if practice is canceled. Generally speaking, we have practice rain or shine, provided the rain is not so hard that you cannot see the bottom of the pool and/or there is no lightning.
