Bryan Meet Entries Open
Thank you all for another great meet! While we did not win the meet against the Huntsville Lakers, I saw a lot of great swims and a lot of great swimmers being brave, putting forth great effort and generally smiling and having fun on an almost cool Saturday morning. Parents you did an awesome job with volunteering and making the meet run smoothly, and we already have all but 3 of our volunteer spots filled for the Bryan meet--thank you! That really is a blessing to our team.
Meet Entries for the Bryan meet are now open, please get your kiddos signed up. Meet entries will close on Wednesday night. This is necessary to allow for time to put relays together on Thursday before we have to merge the meet with the opposing team. Once the meet is merged additional entries are out of our hands, and up to the host team. We always work to get all swimmers in, but after the meet is merged, timer sheets and heat sheets also have to be created, so the deadlines allow time for those things to happen as well.
When entering your swimmers for the meet this weekend, please keep in mind, they can only swim at Divisionals events in which they have an official time (have swum at one of our dual meets--not time trials, and not DQ'd), so if your child has not yet swum a particular event in a meet and they want to swim that event at Divisionals, they need to enter it this weekend. This also holds true for the Trinity 3 event bonus rule. At the Trinity invitationals, swimmers who have qualified three individual events, can swim up to 5 individual events (Free, Back, Breast, Fly, IM and 50 Free--all swimmers wishing to swim the 100 free must achieve a qualifying time), even if not all events are qualified. However, in order to take advantage of the 5 event bonus entries, your swimmer must have an official time for those additional events. (Example: Swimmer's favorite strokes are free, back & Fly, and swimmer has only swum those three meets, and qualifies them all for trinity thus meeting the 3 event bonus rule; however, that swimmer cannot swim any additional events at Trinity, b/c they do not have official times.)
I have attached lists of swimmers who have qualified for Trinity (all swimmers with green times on the list), and those who have qualified for Ponderosa (again, all swimmers with green times on the list) as of yesterday. Swimmers can qualify for either meet up through Divisionals. Remember their is a $5 fee PER individual event swum in an invitational. Details about making those payments will follow.
Sadly, I will not be with you all this week or next weekend at the meet. My sister is getting married out of state, and the kids and I are exited to go and celebrate with her. My availability via phone and email will be limited, if you have questions, or need assistance, please contact Coach Taylor or one of our other awesome coaches! Have a great week!!
