    Divisionals 2016 (Tomorrow)

Our division championship meet is tomorrow, and we have 57 tsunamis signed up to go and rock our division . . . a small but mighty contingent, no doubt!  There are several relay and individual events with seed times primed to break team records, and lots of exciting looking races shaping up based on the heat sheet.

    • The meet is at the Navasota City pool 103 Stadium Dr., Navasota, TX 77868.  (Google Maps, and Apple Maps both correctly locate it, but I have attached directions.
      • There is a beautiful and well shaded park next, but down a flight of stairs from, to the pool. Hopefully, it should be dried out from the flooding it experienced late May/early June.
      • I think we would all have fun if we try to set up together in the same area, but of course that isn't necessary.  I will try to get their early and set up our personal tent and hang the tsunami banner in the area indicated on the attached map.  Look for the tsunami banner and try to make your way near us!
    • 7:20 am - 7:40 am Tsunami Warm-ups
    • 8:00 am - timer and officials meeting
      • all NWAL certified officials are encouraged to come dressed and willing to work, and locations and shifts will be finalized at the officials meeting.
      • We still NEED 6 more volunteers for the meet.
        • 2 needed at ready bench third session
        • 2 timers second session
        • 2 timers third session
        • Volunteers are responsible for listening to the shift change announcements and showing up as needed.
      • Our division rep will stop the meet if necessary if all spots are not filled.
    • 7:45 am swimmers must be checked in, or risk being replaced in relays.
    • 8:30 am meet begins!
    • You will not want to miss the tsunami relays for the age groups where we had enough swimmers; they will be awesome!  We have some blazing fast relays that have top 10 times in the league!!!  Make your way to the bleachers and let's cheer all our relays and swimmers!
    • There will be bleachers set up on the park side of the pool.
    • Heat sheets will be for sale for $3 each.  I believe Meet Vision will be running tomorrow, but I can tell you last year at divisionals either was not, or there were problems with it, so do not count on having that option.
    • Concessions will be available, but you can always bring your own cooler & snacks.  This is a long meet so your swimmers will want to hydrate, and refuel, particularly for their second half events.
    • Tsunami Shirts will be available if you do not have one yet.
    • Bring sunscreen, and shaded googles, and your own shade if possible.  The temps have really kicked up (in case you haven't noticed--haha!) and this will be a long meet!
    • The meet will likely last until at least 2pm, but should be over no later than 3 pm (having all volunteers present and accounted for at shift changes will help keep the meet moving!)
    • Remember Invitational Entries are due by MIDNIGHT tomorrow (Saturday, June 18) night.  You sign up for invitationals online just like for all of our other meets.  Entries must be accounted for and turned in on Sunday!  I will send a second email about invitationals with more details.

Let me know if you have any questions!  We'll see you at the pool in the morning ready to swim fast and have fun!!
