- 15-18 age group swimmers, we currently have 3 females and 3 male swimmers--if you want to swim relays, go recruit a couple of your friends. Remind them if they swim in 3 meets over the course of the season their entire registration fee will be refunded at the end of the season! Plus, swim team is so much fun, and great exercise!
- If you are an NWAL certified (or provisional) Stroke & Turn official, or Starter, you will be able to work at every meet you are willing and available, whether or not you are signed up on the website. We need a minimum of two SNT at each session of every meet, but as long as you are present, in uniform (white collared shirt over navy pants/shorts/skirt) and attend the Officials meeting at the beginning of the meet, you WILL be given a session to work.
- Provisional officials make sure you work your three sessions to get certified--and get your provisional form signed by the meet ref
- You must work 4 separate meets, not 4 separate sessions, to have one swimmers registration fee completely refunded.
- Officials meetings take place before the start of every meet, usually while the home team is warming up (around 7:45 or 8 am) the referee will assign your location, and shift. (If we have enough officials between both teams, we may be able to split officials into 3 shifts rather than just 2).
- If you went to training but haven't taken and passed your test, you cannot officiate.
- For Time Trials--we will NOT be disqualifying swimmers. Provided all the other volunteer positions are filled, we can do some practice officiating, but we may not have a referee. If we have enough experienced officials, we can try to let you do some shadowing. Since no swimmers will be disqualified at time trials, our first priority for all volunteers (certified or not) is to make sure that we run that meet as efficiently as possible.
