Howdy Tsunamis!

​There is LOTS of important information in this email. Please take the time to read fully and ask questions if you have any.

DIVISIONALS

​TOMORROW is our Divisional Swim Meet in Huntsville! Our Dual Meet was AT Huntsville this season but just in case anyone needs it the address of the pool is: 912 Avenue N. in Huntsville.

​Meet time is 8:30am. Check in will begin at 7am. Our warm-ups are at 7:20am. Please BE ON TIME. We will only have 7:20am to 7:40am to warm up, the other time slots are FILLED with the other teams from the Far North Division.

Divisionals is a LONG swim meet. All of the teams in our division will be represented. Our team alone will be bringing over 90 swimmers! Please be prepared for a long day; lots of sunscreen, water, activities to do between your events, money for concessions (and possibly gear - last year there was a company there making event shirts). Meet Programs will be $5 each as well.

​Volunteering! I know many of you signed up on our website to volunteer - we have a very specific list of what we are expected to bring to the meet though. It would be very helpful if you could respond to this email with what you are able & willing to help out with.

​We need to provide: someone to pass out Heat Ribbons for the 2nd half of the meet, 1 ribbon writer for the 2nd half of the meet, HEAD Timer for Events 27-52, TWO(2) people to assist with Ready Bench for the ENTIRE MEET, FIFTEEN(15) Timers (covering 5 lanes, so that will be 3 sessions of 5 timers).

​IF you can cover more than one session we would love the help. If you look at the current list of volunteers on the website we are very lacking. We NEED these volunteers to be able to help this meet run smoothly. Please either sign up or send me an email letting me know what you can cover.

INVITATIONALS

​IF you have already qualified for either of the Invitational meets please go ahead and sign up. In order to pay you will need to log in to your Rectrac account (https://rectrac.cstx.gov/​)  - click on AQUATICS, scroll down to Tsunami Swim Team where you will see the option to add Ponderosa or Trinity to your cart. You will enter the number of events your swimmer will be swimming. Please remember there is a 3 event bonus rule for Trinity; if your swimmer has qualified for 3 events they may go ahead and sign up for the remaining events (ONLY IF they have an official NWAL time in those events).  

​Your swimmer may still be attempting to achieve a qualifying time at the Divisionals meet this weekend. That is perfectly fine. We really need those entries completed Saturday afternoon after the meet - this will give us time to help with any potential computer problems or questions that may come up before all entries are due on Sunday.

​PENTATHLON

​I am attaching and posting Pentathlon results! All I can say is way to GO Tsunamis! You make all of your Coaches SO proud! Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed in this event! Y'all ROCK!

​The REST of the season...

​Remember, Tsunami swimming IS NOT OVER after this weekend OR next! We will continue to practice through July. There is an opportunity for swimmers to swim at the Regional TAAF meet (more information coming on that one soon) July 15th in Bryan. The TAAF meet is NOT associated with NWAL so you do not have to qualify for the TAAF meet through any of the previous meets. We will have lots more information on how to register for this meet in the coming weeks but if you want to check out the website now go to http://www.taaf.com/index.php?module=cms&page=140​

​This part of the season is NOT required, but we would love to see all of our swimmers continue to learn, grown and get faster throughout the season. Be on the look out for some schedule changes as our volume of swimmer changes in July most years and we will adjust our schedule as needed to accommodate this.
