    Tsunami Updates 6/9/2025

    Hello everyone! 

    This email has a lot of information, so please read all of it! 

    First of all, GREAT job to everyone who swam at Navasota and Pentathlon this weekend! We had some amazing swims and we hope everyone had so much fun! We also had a few swimmers qualify for Ponderosa and Red, White, & Blue!! We will get our ribbons from Navasota at Divisionals this weekend, so do not worry! I will also have personal best ribbons from Bryan & Navasota in the folders this week. 

    Tsunamis scored 684 points and Navasota scored 426! AMAZING job everyone!! Here are our high point swimmers from our meet against Navasota!

    Meet Entries: ALL meet entries are due Thursday @12pm! Please make sure to mark your swimmers correctly for relays!! 

    Event Entries: Each swimmer may enter 3 individual events and 3 relay events. The extra relay is the Mixed Free Relay. Each team may only enter 1 relay per each relay event. In order to participate in Divisionals, swimmers must participate in 2 NWAL Certified Dual Meets. Participation is defined as a swimmer entering the water in an NWAL event with or without disqualification otherwise known as a splash.

    No swimmers will be added to the meet after the exchange is made. No Exceptions.

    Meet Timeline: Start time is 8:30 AM. 

    Warm-Up Times:

    Huntsville: Lanes 1-8 6:40 AM - 7:00 AM

    College Station: Lanes 1-8 7:00 AM - 7:20 AM

    Bryan: Lanes 1-8 7:20 AM - 7:40 AM

    Brenham: Lanes 1-8 7:40 AM - 8:00 AM

    Navasota: Lanes 1-4 8:00 AM - 8:20 AM

    Lee County: Lanes 5-8 8:00 AM - 8:20 AM

    Timers/Officials: Meetings will be at 8:00 AM at the Start end of the pool.

    Officials need to submit form to Meet Referee (Google Form) if they are going to officiate.

    Team Camp/Set Up: The pool will open by 6:15 for visitor set up. We have plenty of grassy areas for swim families and spectators to set up both inside and outside of the pool area; pop-up tents and/or blankets are recommended. All set-up areas are first come, first served. Within the pool area, there is a small grass square behind the covered patio, as well as space behind the starting blocks/along the far side of the little pool (not open during the meet) and behind the starting blocks. Outside the pool area, there is lots of shaded space in the park around the pool facility. There is also a fenced-in splash pad for the public's use during Divisionals, but please, do not set up within the splash pad area. We’ve requested bleachers from the city for spectator viewing along the Lane 1 side of the pool

    Parking: TBD. HVL will update parking details with photo the week leading up to Divisionals.

    Awards: Medals will be given for the top 8 places and ribbons for 9th through 12th places. Trophies will be presented to the top 3 overall teams.

    Scoring: All events will be scored as per the NWAL 6 Team Scoring.

    Individual Events: 14-12-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

    Relay Events: 14-10-7-5-3-1

    Concessions: The Lakers will sell coffee/water/sports drinks/chips @ $1 each.

    Kona Ice 10-12:30.

    Breakfast and/or lunch tacos TBD. Will update asap! 

    Invitationals

    I will be sending out a separate email to families who have qualified for Ponderosa or Red, White, & Blue with information on those meets so be on the lookout! 

    We will not be having practice on the 20th in preparation for Invitationals! 

    Practice

    We are almost done with our NWAL season! The swimmers have improved so so much and all of our coaches are having so much fun with the kids. Please make sure your swimmers are drinking A LOT of water at practice and throughout the day! 

    Make sure you are checking the ribbon boxes!!
