Howdy Tsunami Families!

Just some quick updates & reminders for you this week. Please read the whole thing, even if some of these are just reminders for you.

Parent Meeting

We are excited to meet everyone! Our parent meeting will be tomorrow night at 5pm here at Adamson Lagoon! This is a great opportunity to meet the coaches, ask questions, and learn more about Tsunamis! Please RSVP if you have not already done so. 

Evaluations

Evaluations will be held the week of April 22nd. Please be sure to sign up using the link on our website https://collegestation.swimtopia.com/.

Please remember there is only one swimmer per slot; if you have multiple swimmers please either select that many slots or give them each their own slot. You can do that either way but all swimmers will need an evaluation. This is also when swimmers will pick up their team shirts.

If your swimmer will not be attending the Time Trial meet on May 4th we will be getting their Time Trial time during Evaluations as well. Please let the person checking you in know.

We are always watching the weather & the pool temperature. If you look ahead at the weather & want to make changes to your swimmer's evaluation schedule please feel free to do so. Otherwise, we will adjust in real time, as needed. I will be able to send notifications via this website if we need to cancel any portion of evaluations. You can also find the link to our lightning alert system on our website homepage.

Official Certification

We NEED Officials. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider helping in this area. There are still classes available to become an official. It is a great way to learn more about the swimming world and be more involved with the team! If officials work three meets, the position reduces the fee by 50 percent for one participant. If 4 meets are worked, then the registration fee is refunded 100% for one participant. 

Sign up at www.nwalcertified.com to help with Computers, Clerk of Course (these classes are online) or Stroke & Turn Official.

If you were an official last summer, you only need to take the test again and complete the background check. For the background check please come to the parent meeting and we will get your background check taken care of! If you cannot make it to the parent meeting, let me know and we can set up another time to do your background check.

Swimtopia App

If you have not done so yet please download the Swimtopia App. You will log in using the same credentials you log into our website. You can use the app to sign up for swim meets & so much more! It will even take you to the main page if you need something more in depth than the app provides.

Team Photos

You can RSVP for Individual and Team Photos on our website at https://collegestation.swimtopia.com/swim_meets. Memoir Photography will be at the pool to take these photos.

Age Groups / Practice Times / Team Registrations

I will be sending out a sign up for the practice days tomorrow! ALL swimmers must sign up for a day to practice. They will be able to swim M/W or T/TH until May 22!

Please note; the age your swimmer is on May 1, 2025 is the age group your swimmer will swim in (both practice and compete) ALL SEASON. This is called an "age up" date and is used in sports like swimming to keep things consistent for the athletes.

There will be overflow options offered for the 9-12 year old section as well, that one always fills up.

Time Trial Swim Meet

Entries for the Time Trial Meet are OPEN as well. Please RSVP your swimmer as ATTENDING and select their events if they will be at that meet on May 4th. You will also RSVP for that on the website at https://collegestation.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

Please be sure to select ALL events your swimmer is willing to swim that day. It does not matter if they will not be legal, they just need to get a time for ANY event they may want to swim at a meet during the season. NWAL does not allow swimmers to compete with a "NT" or no time.

Volunteer Jobs are also open for this meet so please select a place where you feel comfortable helping out with our meet that day.

If you will be out of town on May 4th your swimmer will need to get their Time Trial times during their evaluation. Please be sure to let the person checking you in during evaluations know that your swimmer will need to get their Time Trial times.
