Region 5 TAAF Swim Meet

The Region 5 TAAF Swim Meet will be held at the Bryan Aquatic Center on July 13th. ALL Swimmers are able to participate in this meet. 

To sign your swimmer up for events you will follow the same system you do for Dual Meets. 

Q: How do I sign up for a Dual Meet?

~ Log in to www.collegestation.swimtopia.com

~ Select the Swim Meet from the Schedule. Click MEET ENTRY.

~ Click EDIT, then select "attending this meet"

~ Select the appropriate number of events for your swimmers' age group. 

~ Indicate if your swimmer is available for Relays using the drop down box

~ SAVE

Entries are due by July 3rd.

Reminder, I MUST have all swimmers who attend the Region 5 TAAF swim meet complete the RSVP for the State Games of Texas Swim Meet in Brownsville July 25-28. You only need to complete the RSVP for your swimmer (NOT for the parents). I will be double & triple checking this information at the Region Meet as well. I will have to submit each swimmers' intention to swim at the State meet while we are still at the Region Meet. 

TAAF State Games of Texas qualifications move on a rotation. If anyone in the top 3 finishers for each race cannot attend the State Meet the invitation moves to the next swimmer. This is why we need an RSVP for ALL swimmers competing in the Region Meet. Even if you don't think your swimmer may make it into the top 3 they still may receive an invitation to the State Meet. 

Practice Reminders

Please make an effort to have your swimmer attend the practice appropriate for their training group. While we will make every effort to get swimmers in to practice whenever they arrive, it is very important for them to practice with the appropriate training group and program as well as attend an age appropriate practice length. 

The pool is very warm. Please make sure your swimmer has water. We will modify rest intervals & practice intensity as needed. 

Don't forget to check the family boxes for any awards. I can see a lot of items in these folders that need to be picked up. 

Evening Practice: please do not show up early to play unless you are paying for entry. 

4th of July Week Schedule

Invitational Meet Results

We had a GREAT weekend last weekend at our Invitational Meets!

Ponderosa Swimmers: Ponderosa is our Championship meet and the fastest meet in our league! What an accomplishment!

Mason qualified for finals in all 4 of his events!

Trinity Summer Classic Swimmers: Trinity is a VERY fast end of season invitational.

I am hoping I have some official results to post for Trinity soon but we had SO many great swims this weekend! The team also managed to come in 3rd place for the Small Team category. 

The Ponderosa results are posted to our website. 

End of Season Banquet

Our Tsunami Team Banquet will be July 19th at Adamson Lagoon! We are getting ready for a great time celebrating our season & our swimmers!

I've put some items that families can bring to help out with the swim banquet. If you think of anything you would like to contribute but it is not listed please feel free to send me that suggestion. Just remember, no glass & no alcohol.

The last day of practice is July 24th so we still have almost a month of practice opportunities left! We hope to see you all at the pool!
