Howdy Tsunami Families!

We are making it through the first week of practices pretty well! Here are just a few reminders.

Practice Selection / Evaluations / Time Trials (non meet)

If you have NOT used the practice selection forms for your swimmers age group to select their practice please do so. If you need me to send or re-send that form just email me & I will do that. 

We have over 200 swimmers signed up, close to 100 in the 9-12 age group alone. We need swimmers to select a couple days per week to swim as our pool (and our coaches) cannot run 100 swimmers all at the same time. 

What if my swimmer needs to come on an "off practice"? Because we are using this sign up it is usually just fine if a swimmer needs to attend on an "off practice". They will still need to attend an age-group appropriate practice. 

If you have signed your swimmer up for MULTIPLE practice selections please be sure to only have them signed up for ONE. If they sign up for multiple sections they are taking a section away from another swimmer who may need that spot. 

Reminder, the practice day selections are only in place until Memorial Day. When we move to 2 practice opportunities per day swimmers may choose one per day on each day practice is offered. 

If your swimmer needs to complete Time Trials outside of the Meet on May 4th please email me to schedule. I will be completing those AFTER the Time Trial meet this weekend.

Practices (General)

Please remind your swimmer to check in with the Coach who has the check in page before practice. We will remind swimmers which lane they will be in & let them know if there has been a lane change. We are not taking roll for anything other than a means of communication and to help US get to know your swimmers better. There are over 200 swimmer names for us all to learn, asking for their name is important! 

Parents, swimmers need to be able to independently follow directions AND they need to WANT to be here. As you may have seen this week, some of our groups are quite full. It is difficult (read, impossible) for a Coach to effectively COACH a practice and to be trying to convince a swimmer to get into the pool at the same time. Swimmers need to follow the Coach's instruction and not argue as well. The time spent "bargaining" with the Coach is time NOT spent doing their job. We love our swimmers and want them all to WANT to be here, it's important to the whole team for us ALL to WANT to be here and be respectful of each other and the Coaching staff. 

Time Trial Meet

The Time Trial Meet is THIS Saturday! I will be sending out a schedule as we get closer to the meet. I would encourage you to sign your swimmer up for as many events as possible. There will be no relays at this meet & disqualifications will not affect their ability to get their time. 

If you need to leave early it will be OK. Just have your swimmer let a Coach know so we are not looking for them. 

If you need to arrive late it is also OK. Just send me an email so I will know about what time your swimmer will arrive. 

We need to try to get as many of these Time Trial times knocked out as we can on Saturday. 

Reminder, entries are due by Thursday at NOON! 

We still need LOTS of volunteers as well! Be sure to check those available Jobs and sign up for one. Meets can't run without our Volunteers! If you need to add another parent volunteer just let me know. With an email address they can have their own account to sign up to help!
