Howdy Tsunami Families!

Well, it sounds like you had an eventful weekend while I was out of town. This means there is a lot to go over in the update today. Please read this whole email.

Bryan Swim Meet

The Bryan Swim Meet has been postponed due to the weather on Saturday. The Bryan Swim Meet will now be held on TUESDAY 5/16 at the Bryan Aquatic Center. I have been told warm ups will be at 5pm and the meet will start at 5:45pm. 

We CANNOT make any changes to the Athletes already entered in the meet. (So if your swimmer was not registered for the meet on Saturday we cannot register them for the meet on Tuesday.) Any swimmer who can no longer compete in this meet due to it being on a different day we will just scratch from the meet. We understand that it is now on a school night and many families will have other activities going on. There isn't much we can do about that as we are required to have the meet this week, BEFORE the next meet this weekend. 

I will be sending an email to all swimmers who signed up for the Bryan Meet with a survey to see if we can get an idea of who will need to scratch and better predict the timeline. It will likely be at least 8:30pm before we finish the meet, possibly later. We are evaluating all options including eliminating relays if needed to make sure we are not there until 10pm. 

Huntsville Swim Meet

We swim against Huntsville this Saturday 5/20 at Adamson Lagoon. Entries are open as well as Volunteer Job sign ups. Please get your swimmer registered. I will send out additional information on schedule and relays as we get closer to that meet. Entries will be due Wednesday at 11:59pm. 

Practice Tuesday 5/16 will be cancelled

Due to the Bryan Swim meet we will have to cancel practice on Tuesday 5/16. As always, we will do our best to get ALL swimmers who come to practice, even on their "off" evening, in to swim. There are lots of people requesting make up practices every day, and many who just show up, so it's difficult for me to tell exactly how close to capacity we might be on any given evening. We will always do our best to get everyone in, but having more than 7 swimmers in a lane just isn't safe or practical for training purposes. 

Weather today

Yes, I know, the weather is still acting up. I will do my best to send out notifications if we need to cancel practices. Please keep in mind, if there is a line of parents at my door asking me individually if we are going to cancel it might be difficult for me to get that email out in a timely manner as sending weather notifications means keeping up with something that is constantly changing.

You can see if we are actively closed due to weather by selecting Bee Creek Park. (We are currently closed for at least the next 30 minutes.)

Did your swimmer get their T-Shirt? 

If your swimmer did not get their T-Shirt please send me an email letting me know & letting me know what size they need. I will have it put in the Family Box for them to pick up. 

Also, swim caps JUST ARRIVED! If your swimmer missed their swim cap because we ran out please let me know & I will have that put in their file in the Family Box.
