    Tsunami Team Reminders 5/3/23

    Howdy Tsunami Swimmers!

    Just a few reminders today...

Time Trial Meet May 6th (THIS Saturday)

The Time Trial Meet is THIS Saturday. Please be sure to complete your swimmers' entries as soon as possible. Entries will close on Thursday (5/4) at NOON! Beginning with the first dual meet Entries will close at 11:59pm on Wednesday. This is because we are required to merge the meet with the other team no later than 6pm on Thursday of each week.

Swimmers who completed their time trials outside of the time trial meet, those times will be entered AFTER the Time Trial meet has been completed. Entries for the Bryan Meet the following weekend will not open until AFTER the Time Trial meet this week. At that time I will be able to open ALL Dual Meet entries.

Reminder, Swimmers MUST HAVE A TIME TRIAL TIME for ANY event they would like to swim at a Dual Meet during the season. Encourage those swimmers to swim ALL their events - or at the very least give you 3-4 to choose from for meet entries later in the season.

Please be sure to sign up to volunteer during Time Trials as well. It takes SO many to keep these meets running and we still have a lot of spaces to fill. We have a LOT of volunteer jobs to fill for the meet on Saturday.

I will send out a timeline for Saturday as soon as I have completed entries for this meet. There are no relays scheduled (which makes it go a bit faster). Per our rule book the official meet start time is 8:30am (for all meets). We will check in & warm up BEFORE the meet starts.

    Practice

So far practices have been going very well! Please remember to try to bring your swimmer to their regularly scheduled practice. If they need to attend a make up practice please just shoot me an email to let me know. We will always do our best to get all the swimmers in the water. We know this is a very busy time of year for everyone. We just need to make sure we do not get to a point where we over-crowd the lanes.

Reminder your swimmers to check in with the coach running the check in at practice when they arrive - there will only be one coach running the check in. It is possible that we may adjust training groups based on how the swimmers are doing during practice so just going straight to the lane they were in last time may not work.

    Pool Rules

If you've been on the deck during practice you know how many whistles we are hearing. We need to be better.

~ NO running in the pool area. If you have a sibling who needs to get some energy out there is a park right next door where they can run around.

~ NO climbing on the walls, tables, railings, fences or chairs. Again, there is a park right next door.

~ No gum or food while your swimmer is swimming. Only water on the deck next to the pool. Gum & food is a clear choking hazard while your swimmer is working out. They need to finish their snack and spit out their gum before approaching the pool.

~ No glass at the pool.

These are really the basic pool rules we all need to follow while we are here. If you haven't learned my favorite saying when the kids are running, "I like your teeth in your face." It's true - I really don't want to see any of our swimmers get hurt or injured. Please encourage them to be safe.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

    See you at the POOL!

    Coach Michelle
