Preliminary Meet Information for Saturday Time Trials (and some reminders)

    Howdy Tsunamis!

Since we have some time out of the water I wanted to send some updates & information regarding the swim meet this weekend.

Entries are STILL open. In the future I will have to shut them down before noon on Thursdays so I can run relays & send information on those in time to merge the meet by 6pm on Thursdays (per our rule book). If you still need to get your swimmer entered into events for THIS Saturday please do that ASAP.

Some parents have been asking about some of the rules for swimming as well. You can find the rule book here:

Please remember; if your swimmer would like to swim any event at a Dual meet in the future they MUST have a Time Trial time in order to register for that event.

We will have officials on deck this Saturday. They will be calling disqualifications as they practice for themselves, but these disqualifications DO NOT COUNT. The swimmer's times will still stand & no disqualifications will go back to computers for entry. We will use these as coachable moments for our entire organization as we get better at swimming and hosting swim meets!

    Saturday Schedule

    7am     Check in Begins

    7:30am     Warm Ups Begin

8:15am     Pool cleared for officials meeting, timer meeting

    8:30am    Event 1

Swimmers will arrive at the pool and check in with a coach in the entry way starting at 7am. Since this is just a Time Trial meet & will only be our team we have plenty of room for families to spread out. For the dual meets that we host we usually try to stay near the baby pool area & allow the visiting team the large pavilion to set up. Warm ups will being at 7:30am which is a little more time than we are usually allowed. Since we've had limited practice time this week & now a huge weather hit I would love for our swimmers to be able to get a bit more practice as well as be able to spread out some if possible. 10 & Under swimmers will get in at 7:30am, our 11 & Over swimmers will get in the water at 7:50am.

I will not know exactly how long the meet will take until I am able to run the heat sheets tomorrow. I want to make sure everyone has a chance to complete all of their entries before I run those heat sheets. I will be able to send out information tomorrow on an estimated timeline as well as post a heat sheet.

We still have plenty of jobs for people to sign up for as well! Feel free to plug yourself in, I promise, it's not too hard!

Swimtopia has an APP! If you have not done so yet please go to the app store on your device and download the app. You will be able to log in & see your swimmers events and any jobs you've signed up for as well!

How do I know when my swimmer's event(s) will be?

We have a ready bench area. The Ready Bench volunteers will have a big sign with number on them that correspond to the events of the meet. They will update those numbers as they are ready for those swimmers to approach the ready bench & it will always be a bit BEFORE their event is actually in the pool. So regardless of what event is in the water, please have your swimmer head to the ready bench when their event number appears at the ready bench.

Parents are not to be on the side of the pool where the ready bench, officials & coaches are. IF you have a young swimmer you are welcome to drop them off at the ready bench but then you will need to leave that area; your swimmer will exit the pool on the other end anyways. The area of the ready bench is NOT a viewing area or hang out area. Swimmers that are there need to be paying attention to the ready bench & not distracted by other swimmers who are just hanging out. We have plenty of other spaces to do that.

There is NO warm up or warm down lane available. There is NO swimming in any other area of the pool or the baby pool during the swim meet.

One final item, we received an announcement from NWAL this week...
