Howdy Tsunami Family!

I am still getting caught up from the week of Evaluations & Meet the Coaches but what a GREAT week it was! It was amazing to get to see so many faces I haven't seen in quite a while! 

I just want to give a few updates/reminders as we head into the first week of practice.

If your swimmer did not sign up for & attend evaluations they will not have a lane assignment or a shirt. My goal was to have everyone assigned a lane & to have received their shirt before practice began so please bear with us as we work through getting these things done this week. 

If your swimmer still needs their shirt you will need to email me their size. 

As of today our team is larger than it has been for the past few seasons (maybe ever). Our team is at over 215 registered swimmers! WOW y'all! So please be patient with your coaching staff as we are not fully staffed yet. I have 2 more coaches that will be joining our team over the next couple of weeks & that will help a lot! 

That being said, we need everyone to make sure you are attending the practice you signed up for! I know that in years past we've been able to be very flexible with this, but in order to keep our lane capacity around 6 swimmers we will not be able to be as flexible this year. 

When your swimmer arrives at practice a coach will check them in & let them know what their lane assignment is (or if we still need to assign a lane). Lane assignments will change throughout the season as well. 

Time Trials Meet is May 8th. I have heard from several families that will not be able to be there on May 8th and also did not get their time trial times completed during evaluations. We will have another opportunity to get those times on Friday May 7th. If your swimmer needs to get their time trial times on May 7th please email me to let me know. We need a head count & may need to do a sign up for times as we only have a couple of coaches available to work that evening. 

I will be sending out another email this week to answer some questions I have received about signing up for the Time Trial meet as well. Selecting events for swimmers, signing up for volunteer jobs, etc. 

I would encourage everyone to read through all of the information on our website, especially the parent handbook. If you are new to swimming the handbook answers SO many questions; volunteering, competition age groups, events, awards, etc.

Again, I am still working on getting caught up from evaluations this week. I am working very hard to get through everyone's emails as well as to make sure everyone who has registered is entered into Swimtopia as well. If it takes me a while to respond to your emails please be patient. Also, I probably won't be able to respond to emails during practice time, at least not until all of our coaches are fully on staff.
