Wednesday Updates
Howdy Tsunamis!
Just a quick update & clarification on a few things today.
TAAF Season
We have finished our NWAL season & are now in TAAF season. If you swam during the NWAL season there is nothing else you need to do to register for the TAAF season - you are automatically included in the TAAF season & do not need to register for Tsunamis again. Registration prior to May 15 includes the extended or TAAF season. The only people that need to sign up for the TAAF season are those that have not yet registered and desire to train with Tsunamis.
TAAF Swim Meet
TAAF Swimming operates VERY differently from NWAL Swimming. TAAF has rules about participation in USA Swimming that prevent many of our US Swimmers from participation in this meet. If you have questions about that please review the TAAF Swimming Rules :

Also, TAAF requires Registration before meet entries. So I will get everyone who will be swimming registered with the State before we do Meet Entries. I have a couple of copies of last year's Region Meet schedule in my office if anyone would like to see what this year's schedule MIGHT look like - we won't have any official information on that until the Meet Template is pushed out AND meet entries are completed by all participating teams & individuals.
For those who have already RSVPd on the website I have put copies of the TAAF Waiver in your folders in the boxes. I am also attaching a copy of the waiver to this email. Please complete the waiver & turn it in to me ASAP if you plan to participate in the TAAF swim meet.

I will need to have TAAF entries completed by FRIDAY JUNE 29th! I know the TAAF website says Saturday June 30th, but there will be no one available at the TAAF office to help me if we run into trouble with registration on Saturday so the true cut-off is Friday. I have closed the ability to RSVP for this meet at 10am on Friday to give me time to answer questions and get registration completed before the TAAF employees leave for the day at 5pm.
I am still waiting on a meet template for Region TAAF which will allow participants to choose their events. I will push that out to our website as soon as it is available to me.
Extended Season Practice
Please note the new practice schedule:
10 & Under 8am - 8:45am
9 to 12 8:45am - 9:45am
13 & Older 9:45am - 11:15am
Evening make-up Practice Tu/We/Th 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Morning practices are still at Adamson Lagoon & evening practices are at Hallaran (Southwood) Pool.
Please make every effort to attend the appropriate practice for your age group. If your athlete is attending practice that is outside of their appropriate age group the coaching staff cannot guarantee them the appropriate level of training and attention at a different practice time.
Tsunami Team Banquet / End of Season Party
Please be sure to RSVP for the Team Banquet/Party. We will eat, play, have awards & just get to enjoy everyone's company outside of practice time. There are still plenty of spots to sign up to bring extra refreshments as well. The City will be providing Pizza & Water (as well as an amazing facility & lifeguards).
For those of you who have already signed up to bring something we currently have 83 people signed up as attending. I will update the sign up genius as we get closer to the event.
Hopefully this email helps to clear up some questions. I know the transition from NWAL to TAAF can be really confusing. Just let me know if you do have any other questions and please remember there are NO dumb questions.
Swim Fast Tsunamis! See you at the pool!
Coach Michelle
