    Weather Information

    Howdy Tsunamis!

    Let's talk about WEATHER...

Because we live in the great state of Texas, weather is very unpredictable. The pool has rules that they have to follow regarding inclement weather as well:

    1. Thunder: NO SWIMMING for 30 minutes after the last thunder.

    2. Lightning: NO SWIMMING for 30 minutes after the last lightning.

    3. Visibility: If it is raining but there is no thunder or lighting there can be swimming, but ONLY if visibility is NOT impaired. If it is raining so hard that the lifeguards cannot see well enough to keep us safe, then we cannot swim.

That being said; the last thunder heard here was at 4:39pm so we will not be able to get into the pool until 5:09pm (if there is no more thunder or lightning). With our practices being scheduled as they are it is possible to need to cancel one practice but not the others. We could start swimming and have weather roll in later that causes the later practices to be cancelled OR we could have weather come through for an earlier practice, but roll out of the area allowing us to have the later practice groups.

As well, with swim meets... Meets are VERY difficult to make up, NWAL has some very specific rules about our timeline for making up meets (it has to be done BEFORE the next scheduled meet) and this can be very difficult especially if the location is a bit of a drive for either team.

Please understand that we do take a wait-and-see approach for any cancellation to accommodate these situations. If you have any questions about how we handle weather please feel free to ask.

    Thanks!
