    Practice starts TOMORROW!!!

    Howdy Tsunamis!

It's HERE! Practice Starts TOMORROW! Hope you are all ready! Today is MONDAY so you know I have some information for you

    Practice Times:

Practice Times are listed in the Parent Handbook but just to make sure everyone has them:

AFTER-SCHOOL PRACTICES BEGIN MAY 1 AND GO THROUGH MAY 31. These practices are daily Monday - Thursday at Adamson Lagoon. No Practice May 28th (Memorial Day)

    • 4:30 - 5:00 pm 8 & Under
    • 5:00 - 5:45 pm 9-12 yrs
    • 6:00 - 6:45 pm 11-14 yrs
    • 6:30 - 7:30 pm 13+ yrs

Please try to attend the practice time for your age group. When the kids swim at meets, & especially on relays, it is important for them to have the opportunity to practice with their team mates. If your regularly scheduled practice time does NOT work for you please let me know so that the coaches will know what to expect.

I also know that many swimmers are juggling lots of activities right now. Please be aware that Thursdays are the days we will be working on Starts / Turns / Transitions until school gets out. Thursday is an important day at practice so please keep that in mind as you are working on your schedule.

    Weather:

Our pools are outside so we are very subject to weather. Please be on the lookout for changes in the weather. We cannot swim in the event of lightning or thunder in the area. Even rain, without the addition of thunder & lightning, can affect our lifeguards' ability to effectively see & keep our swimmers safe. Weather in our area, as most of you know, is impossible to predict. We often take a "wait and see" approach, especially when we are dealing with swim meets as they are very difficult to make up.

    Time Trials:

Time Trials are May 5th - that's THIS SATURDAY! Please sign up for Time Trials if you will be here. If you are receiving this email then you should be entered into the system & should be able to go ahead & sign your swimmer up for the meet as well as sign yourself up for a volunteer shift. Please be sure to visit our website for all of this:

    https://collegestation.swimtopia.com/

At time trials all swimmers are encouraged to swim all individual events. We aren't currently planning on swimming any relays, but if time & swimmer entries allow we may try to swim a few to allow our officials some practice with relay starts & transitions.

There are no disqualifications at Time Trials; this is an opportunity for each swimmer to set an unofficial time so they are able to enter the dual meets. Swimmers cannot enter dual meets with out a time from Time Trials. Many of you who are not able to make it to the Time Trial meet have already emailed me to let me know. IF your swimmer cannot make it to the Time Trial meet please let me know & we will get their times THIS WEEK before Time Trials so that they are ready to be entered into the first Dual Meet at the same time as all of the other swimmers.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions!
